From a hospital bed to a U.S. patent — the story behind Save-A-Scoop® and the man who refused to let the problem go unsolved.
Daniel Ryder, founder of Save-A-Scoop®, is an inventor and entrepreneur whose life has been shaped by resilience, faith, and second chances. Born in Massachusetts in 1966, Daniel overcame early personal tragedy and years of hardship before rebuilding his life in Florida. Over the years, he worked on boats, earned his captain's license, became a yacht broker, and later founded Ryder Clips — where he developed several successful products.
In 2021, after surviving liver failure and receiving a life-saving transplant, Daniel experienced a moment that would change everything. While recovering one night, he woke up with the vision for what would become Save-A-Scoop®. Driven by both innovation and purpose, Daniel committed that 10% of the company's net earnings would go toward helping people and communities in need around the world.
After several years of development and patent protection, Save-A-Scoop® officially launched in June 2025. Today, Daniel continues to work relentlessly to bring the technology to market and fulfill the mission behind the invention.
For Daniel, Save-A-Scoop® is more than a product — it's proof that perseverance, faith, and purpose can turn even life's hardest moments into something meaningful.
It was 3am. Daniel was recovering from a liver transplant — one of medicine's most complex procedures. Most people in that situation are focused on rest. Daniel woke up with a sketch in his mind.
The problem was simple and universal: every scoop ever made leaves product behind. Billions of wasted servings, every year, across every home, gym, kitchen, and commercial operation on the planet. Nobody had fixed it — not because it couldn't be done, but because nobody had committed to solving it properly.
Daniel did. He reached for a notepad, drew the first version of what would become Save-A-Scoop®, and didn't stop until it was patented and in production.
Years of iteration, engineering, and manufacturing work turned a 3am idea into a U.S.-patented product ready for shelves worldwide.
It started with a simple drawing on lined paper — a rough concept born from the frustration of wasted product. One sketch that asked: what if a scoop could actually get everything out?
Dozens of hand-drawn engineering sketches filled the table — refining the geometry, the angles, and the scoop mechanism. Every detail was measured, tested, and reworked before a single mold was cut.
Custom injection mold tooling — machined to exact spec — brought the design into physical reality. Every cavity engineered to produce a perfect, food-safe scoop at scale.
From concept to manufacturing floor. The finished mold locked into the press — ready to produce thousands of U.S. patented, food-safe Save-A-Scoop® units for homes, gyms, and retailers worldwide.
From day one, Save-A-Scoop® was built with a commitment beyond the bottom line.
We don't chase trends. Every product we build starts with a genuine problem that millions of people face every day.
Food-safe materials. U.S. patent protection. Engineered for durability in homes, gyms, and commercial kitchens alike.
10% of net earnings are committed to helping people and communities in need — built into the company's foundation from day one.
"Save-A-Scoop® is proof that perseverance, faith, and purpose can turn even life's hardest moments into something meaningful."
